We invite you to know the Chilean wines and our fertile wine valleys, where the Chilean traditions come to life. Come to tour wineries, mansions and cellars in which you will not only taste delicious wines, but also will dive into the unique Chilean culture.
We recommend you start your journey in Santiago, enjoying the delicious fruity tones of Casablanca Valley's Sauvignon Blanc, move on to the velvety Merlots of Cachapoal Valley and finish with the Chilean varietal par excellence, Carménère, in Colchagua valley.
Day 1: Santiago
In the morning, pick-up your car at Santiago airport and drive to your hotel. The afternoon is free to see the city and surroundings. We recommend a visit to the historic center of Santiago (downtown) and San Cristobal hill to see the city from the heights. Overnight in Santiago.
Day 2: Santiago, Casablanca Valley, Valparaiso
Drive to Casablanca valley (78 miles on paved road). We recommend you visit one of the wineries in this valley, like Indómita, Viña Mar, Veramonte, Casas del Bosque, to mention a few. In the afternoon visit to the city of Valparaíso (45 miles on paved road) to visit La Sebastiana Museum, former house of the poet Pablo Neruda. Overnight in Valparaiso [B]
Day 3: Valparaiso, Cachapoal Valley, Colchagua Valley, Santa Cruz
Morning visit to Cachapoal Valley (110 miles on paved road) where you can tour many different facilities, machinery and cellars as well as learn the wine making process. Some of the wineries found in this valley are Lagar De Bezana, Chateau Los Boldos, Porta, Anakena, Altaïr, Gracia and Casas Del Toqui. In the afternoon visit to Colchagua valley (60 miles by paved road), renowned for being one of the most fertile wine valleys, mainly producing red wines of world-class quality. Some of the many wineries found in this valley are Viu Manent, Santa Laura, Bisquert, Mont Gras, and Montes. Accommodation in Santa Cruz. [B]
Day 04: Santa Cruz, Colchagua Valley, Santa Cruz
Visit "Los Espíritus de Colchagua" (House of Spirits of Colchagua - 350 feet from the hotel), a magical place that recalls the past by reviving the old tradition of mixing fruits and herbs with alcohol to give life to these tasty "mistelas" (spirits). Then, visit the Colchagua Museum, the most complete private museum in the country, displaying an interesting collection of insects trapped in amber and pre-Hispanic artefacts. In the afternoon drive to Santa Cruz Winery (15 miles by paved road), that offers a cable car to take you to the top of a hill where Mapuche, Rapa Nui and Aymara houses have been recreated. Day 05: Santa Cruz, Santiago
Time to say good-bye! Depart Colchagua valley and return to Santiago airport to return the car (80 miles paved road) and board your flight back home or to your next destination. [B]
