Midnight Sun Calendar

Day 1: Stockholm

Arrive in Stockholm by flight. Welcome to Scandinavia!

A private car will meet you in the arrival hall and take you to your hotel in the city. Check in your hotel. Stockholm is often called the “Beauty on Water” being built on 14 islands. Take a look at City Hall, constructed in the National Romantic style, where each year on December 10th the Nobel price banquette takes place. See the Old Town, which is in direct contrast with today’s modern city center. Overnight in Stockholm


Day 2: Stockholm, Oslo

Breakfast is served at your hotel. After breakfast, it’s time a SIB panoramic sightseeing tour passing all the must-see attractions of Stockholm. See the most famous sights and views of the city such as the Stockholm City Hall, The Royal Palace, Östermalm, Gamla Stan (Old City), Långholmen and the Royal Djurgården. Get to know Stockholm and the history of the city. *Transfer to departure point on own. After lunch transfer on your own to the train station to embark your train (2nd class), which will take you to Oslo, Norway! It is a beautiful journey and you will note how the landscape is changing outside the window. After about 4 hours you will arrive in Oslo. The capital of Norway, Oslo, is located at the end of a 62-mile long fjord and surrounded by green hills and a vast forest area. Spend some time in Oslo and enjoy the water front at Aker Brygge and the Akerhus Fortress. Aker Brygge has many nice restaurants and we recommend you to have a nice dinner with fresh Norwegian salmon. Overnight in Oslo. [B]


Day 3: Oslo

Breakfast is served at your hotel; afterwards it is time to really discover the Norwegian Capital!

Depart for 3 hours SIB “Selected Highlights” sightseeing tour including the famous Vigeland

Park, Holmenkollen Ski jump, Oslo City Centre and the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included). *Transfer to departure point on own.The tour ends at noon so we suggest you go for a lunch at one of Oslo’s many nice restaurants. Overnight in Oslo. [B]


Day 4: Oslo, Flâm

After your breakfast it is time to check out from your hotel, make your way to the central station

on your own. Your “Norway in Nutshell” tour begins at the central station: Exchange your voucher for tickets at the train station before departure. Train departs from Oslo central station. Timing will be provided when booking. Change train in Myrdal to the beautiful Flåmsbanen train from Myrdal to Flåm. Arrive at Flåm situated in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the 127-mile long and 4,291 ft. deep Sognefjord. Flåm station is in walking distance to your hotel. Overnight in Flåm

Day 5: Flâm, Bergen

After your breakfast it is time to check out from your hotel. Before your “Norway in a Nutshell” tour continues, there is time to just relax and enjoy the nature. In the afternoon make your way to the pier (just outside the hotel) to depart by fjord cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen. Arrive in Gudvangen and get in the bus from Gudvangen to Voss from where you will take the train to Bergen. Make your way to your hotel on own. Overnight in Bergen

 [2] Option: Funicular Railway - Floibanen

One of the most iconic attractions of Norway is the funicular Fløibanen in Bergen, which takes you to a stunning view-point at Mt Fløyen. Have a look!


Day 6: Bergen, Tromsø

In the morning, after breakfast at your hotel, (depending on your flight time) you can take the Funicular railway to enjoy the view of Bergen from top of a mountain – “Floeinmountain”. Check out and transfer to the airport for your next flight to Tromsø. Upon arrival in Tromsø, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for own activities and there is plenty of things to do and see in this beautiful city. Tromsø is located a mere 1243 miles from the North Pole. Tromsø entertains visitors and inhabitants with its lively, warm and exotic atmosphere! Overnight in Tromsø. [B]


[3] Option: Cable car - Fjellheisen

Experience Tromsø’s best view! The cable car runs from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge Storsteinen (421 m above sea level) in just four minutes. The two gondolas, known as Seal and Polar bear, each have a capacity of 28 passengers. From the viewing platform at the upper station, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords.


[4] Option: Visit a Husky farm

(1st June – 31st August, 2:30 pm-6:00 pm)

Meet the 270 huskies and get an introduction to dog sledge driving by learning about the world’s longest dog sledge race, Iditarod, presented through unique pictures and film. It’s important to wear good footwear if you want to join the Wilderness Center’s guide in exploring the plant and bird life around the center, before meeting back in the Lavvo for a hot drink and cake. (Includes transfer, guiding, movie show, cake and drink).


Day 7: Tromsø

Today you explore Tromsø with a summer excursion! Midnight Sun Hiking - approx. 6/8 hours.

Enjoy an adventurous and exotic hiking trip in the bright summer night! Take advantage of the midnight sun that northern Norway is so famous for and start a hiking tour at 6:15pm! The scenery is great for photography enthusiasts. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes. (Includes transfer and one meal). Overnight in Tromsø. [B/D]


[5] Option: Sea Kayaking

Experience the ocean in an intense and exciting way. With kayaks we paddle along the beautiful coast of northern Norway, with the wild mountains as a scenic background. This is a wonderful way of getting close to the maritime fauna of northern Norway. You won’t need any previous kayaking experience to participate in this event; our guide will help you with everything you need to know. Bring warm clothing, a raincoat and an extra set of clothes. Suitable for families. (Includes transfer and one meal


Day 8: Tromsø, Hurtingruten

Breakfast is served at hotel. Free to explore Tromsø on own. In the evening transfer to the pier on own to board the Hurtigruten ferry. It is time to discover “World's Most Beautiful Sea Voyage”! Overnight on board. [B/D]


[6] Option: Entrance to Polaria

Polaria is the world's most northerly aquarium. It is located in Tromsø, in northern Norway. Rather than a mainly scientific aquarium such as the one in Bergen in the Norwegian midlands, Polaria, which opened in May 1998, is designed to be an educational experience, with particular emphasis on displays for children. Most of the displays focus on the northerly islands of Svalbard.


Day 9: Hurtingruten, Honningsvāg

Have breakfast on board. Private coach will transfer you to your hotel for check in. In the evening you will go on an exciting excursion tour to the North Cape for a midnight sun experience! Enjoy the magnificent sub-Arctic landscape, the northernmost point on the European continent! *Transfer to departure point on own. Entrance to North Cape Hall is included. Overnight in Honningsvåg

Day 10: Honningsvåg

After breakfast at your hotel, check out and transfer on your own to Honningsvåg Airport, it’s time to leave Norway for now, unless you prefer an add-on trip in one of these beautiful and inviting countries.
