Beautiful Bariloche is located in the heart of Argentina’s Lake District and is the ideal base for exploring the nearby lakes, hiking trails and rich culture of Patagonia. Take in the stunning mountain views as you tour Bariloche’s “Circuito Chico”, walk through the Llao Llao Forest and then view Lake Nahuel Huapi. Around the 7 Lakes travel the most beautiful routes in all Argentina. The entire area has a feeling of Switzerland with a different character due its culture and topography but the cleanliness of the air and the natural beauty will make this trip one of the best memories you’ll ever keep.
Day 1: Bariloche
On arrival at International Airport you will be met and assisted by our representative who will escort you to your hotel in Buenos Aires. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to rest and relax after the long flight from the USA.
Day 2: Bariloche
To admire Bariloche in its greatest splendor, we will drive along the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi on Bustillo Ave. until reaching Playa Bonita, with its beautiful view of Huemul Island. We will reach Campanario Hill and appreciate one of the most beautiful views: Lakes Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno, San Pedro Peninsula, Victoria Island, Otto, López, Goye and Catedral hills, and downtown Bariloche. At Llao-Llao, we will observe San Eduardo Chapel, and Pañuelo Port, on Nahuel Huapi. We will cross the bridge over Lake Moreno and, on our way back, we will skirt lakes El Trébol and Nahuel Huapi until reaching Bustillo Ave. Overnight at your hotel. [B]
Day 3: Bariloche, Puerto Blest, Cascada de los Cantaros, Bariloche
On lake Nahuel Huapi, Blest Port displays incredible lush vegetation. At San Carlos or Pañuelo Port, we will embark ourselves to discover a landscape that has been compared to that of the Norwegian fiords. Along the Blest branch, we will see Centinela islet, Perito Morenos tomb. When reaching Alegre Port, we will change to a motorboat to visit Lake Frías. On our way back to Blest Port, we will visit Los Cántaros cascade, pouring water down continuously from 600 m and producing an amazing roar. Once there, we will go up some stairs to admire waterfalls and cascades of great beauty. Return to Bariloche for overnight. [B]
Note: Lake Frías operates only on certain days, and that is decided upon on the same day, so the tour cannot be sell in advance.
Day 4: Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes, 7 Lakes, Villa Angustura, Bariloche
The attractive city of San Martín de los Andes, overlooking lake Lacar, is located 110 miles away from Bariloche, Río Negro, and is framed within a magical natural landscape guarded by Lanín National Park. The city can be approached through the Route of the 7 Lakes, one of the most beautiful routes in Argentina. We will cross Huemul peninsula, visiting Manzano Port and Villa La Angostura. After going around this city, we will start the Route of the 7 Lakes, among mountains and dense forests. We will drive by Correntoso lake, visiting Ruca Malen and El Portezuelo, and lakes Villarino, Falkner and Meliquina, and then arrive in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén. On our way back through the Córdoba border crossing, we will see Caleufú river and Piedra del Viento. Overnight at your hotel. [B]
Day 5: Bariloche, USA
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel and get ready to be picked up for your transfer to the airport to board your connecting flight to the USA, unless you have elected to extend your stay in South America, which we will gladly book for you.[B]
