Day 2: Lomé, Possotomé , Ouidah
Drive to Possotomé in Benin via Hilacondji. On arrival, start your tour with a hiking expedition through Possotomé voodoo village. Benin is the birthplace of voodoo, an ancient religion in this region, which slaves brought with them when transported in Haiti and Cuba. There, it got mixed with Catholicism and this blend was brought back in Benin and Togo by the slave descendants returning to Africa. This much demonized religion is particularly widespread in this area. Even Christians and Muslims believe in voodoo and practice it regularly. There will be a possibility to meet a priest. (optional). Continue to Ouidah for dinner and overnight. [B/L/D]
Day 3: Ouidah
Drive to Ouidah and spend the day visiting the Temple of pythons, one of the most notable sights of Ouidah. There is an interesting story behind how the temple came to exist: The temple is facing the Ouidah’s basilica and the adoration of pythons started after a war that took place in 1717 when the kingdom of Dahomey still existed. At the time Ouidah (formerly called Houeda) wasn’t part of the kingdom of Benin and during that war, Ouidah was defeated. King Kpassè, ruler of the kingdom of Ouidah, fled the town and took refuge in a big forest in order to not be captured by the notorious Ghézo warriors who were seating for him. The legend has it that during the search, many pythons started to come out of the forest therefore protecting king Kpassè of Ouidah from his capture. Visit also the Museum of History, follow the slavery route and go through the Door of No Return and understand an important part of the country history. [B/L/D]
Day 4: Ouidah, Ganvié, Abomey, Dassa Zoume
Take a boat to go to Ganvié stilt village on lake Nokoué. The Venice of Africa, the largest stilt village of the region of Calavi. In the afternoon, drive to Abomey historical city. on arrival, visit the 12 palaces of the Royal Palaces of Abomey located within the same enclosure in the center of Abomey. The site is a testimony to one of the most powerful kingdoms in Africa, Dahomey. It was built by the Fon people between 1625 and 1900. In 1985 it was inscribed simultaneously on the World Heritage List and on the List of the World Heritage in Danger, after a tornado struck Abomey in 1984 and damaged the royal structures and museum severely. Drive to Dassa Zoumé for the night. [B/L/D]

Day 7: Tambermanvallei, Kpalimé
Drive to Kpalimé. It has a beautiful landscape and is located in the heart of the coffee and cocoa region. Stop to see traditional weavers at work and visit the Aledjo cave in the famous Aledjo fault where the cliff seems to be cut off by a sword blow. The way was actually opened through the Aledjo mountains at the time by the Germans rulers around 1904. It used to be a very delicate passage for many heavy goods vehicles going north/south between Lomé port and landlocked Sahelian countries (Burkina Faso. Mali. Niger) often (still) overloaded. Today, thanks to the brand-new national bypass No. 1, a real highway between Sokodé and Kara creates a new detour that is easier and faster for heavy goods vehicles. Since then, the Aledjo fault has been closed to trucks and it has become a very beautiful tourist route with beautiful panoramas of the mountains and crossings of villages. [B/L/D]
Day 8: Kpalimé, Lomé
Embark on a hiking in ecotourism village in Kouma Konda. Walk through the houses, the forest to reach a small waterfall and admire the beautiful green and lush surroundings. Visit of a waterfall. Visit of Havu village on the way to Lomé. [B/L/D]
Day 9: Lomé (Agbodrafo)
Drive to Agbodrafo and take a boat to cross Lake Togo to join Togoville village. You may enjoy one of the most unique and historical tours in Togo. Visit the Agbodrafo clandestine house (slave trade in Agbodrafo was done clandestinely since the traders settled there after the first abolition). This house is built in 1835 by a fraction of the Adjigo clan chased from Aného and led by Chef Assiakoley. Accustomed to the practice of slavery on the shores of Aného, the chief and his notables could not abandon this lucrative trade despite the injunctions of the Western powers and the surveillance of anti-slavery cruises in the Gulf of Benin. The chief Assiakoley built this building on the sly. It is 71 feet long and 33 feet wide and consists of six bedrooms, a living room, 5 feet wide corridors and a cellar. all around the building. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Togo to Togoville, the city from which the country got its name. On arrival, walk around the village learn about the colonization history by German and French. Drive back to Lomé for the night [B/L/D]

Located in the heart of Lomé in the Akodessewa district, the fetish market preserves the Voodoo tradition and offers local solutions to human problems. Animal remains, cat heads, bird carcasses, animal skins, herbs, statuettes, amulets, and even human bones, make this the most famous market in the Togolese capital. These objects have the power to protect people from bad luck and, according to the sellers, and their effectiveness is guaranteed.
